Geopolitical Update: 4/19/26
There’s a lot going on in our world right now and so much of it is pointing us to the events laid out in Scripture as “last day’s prophecy”.
1. Iran - "Make a deal or not, it makes no difference to me. But from my standpoint, I don't care." These words were spoken recently by President Trump and it caused many of us to scratch our heads.
After reading and watching a lot of content, here is what I have discovered, Iran is not the target. Following the trail to Iran's financial pipeline reveals some interesting facts: The $$$ trail leads to London which might explain why Prime Minister Keir Starmer is very unhappy with the whole Iran thing, more pointedly, at the U.S. response to Iran.
What Trump has done is to force a situation that has existed for 100 years in the shadows out into the open. Here's what I'm talking about; if the region (Strait of Hormuz) is unstable and the world is dependent upon ships carrying oil through that strait, then it keeps ships moving through who are in need of promised safe passage.
Lloyds of London is the insurance provider who covered the ships moving through the strait and London collected a cut on every single ship that passed through. The more dangerous the situation, the higher the insurance premium. Friends, this is extortion just like the Barbary pirates in the day of President Thomas Jefferson.
When Trump shut down the strait, Lloyd's of London lost a ton of money. Iran said that they laid mines in the strait, but that they didn't know where the mines were laid and the only safe passage would be through a narrow route within its own territorial waters where they would charge a fee of $2 million per ship and they wanted it paid in crypto currency. Guess what? That game is over!
2. $$$$ - It's all about the money! 2 days before Epic Fury began, Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessett, invoked section 311 of the Patriot Act which empowers the Treasury Secretary to designate foreign jurisdictions, institutions, or transactions as "primary money laundering concerns". It can ultimately lead to cutting off access to the U.S. financial system by banning correspondent accounts. He launched this against MBaer Merchant Bank in Zurich which is a primary money laundering concern and they have laundered $100 million of IRGC money.
Iran's money has effectively been cut off from the Gulf to London to Zurich. The UK has used us. Europe has used us. They needed us militarily to protect them and to bankroll NATO. The UK has been pulling the strings on NATO since its inception. Guess what? That game is over!
3. NATO - Will President Trump kick NATO to the curb? I think there is a good possibility of that. They proved to be absolutely useless in this current war. NATO was organized in 1949 after WWII as a response to combat any influence from Russia. The U.S., Canada, and 10 European countries initially joined. The reason for this organization even existing is no longer there and in my humble opinion, NATO has outlived its usefulness.
There are now 32 NATO countries, and the U.S. foots the bill for 60-65% of its defense budget. Article 5 of their founding treaty says that an attack on 1 NATO ally is an attack on all NATO allies. These European countries would not even allow U.S. troops to land on and take off from our own U.S. bases in Europe. Guess what? That game may be over!
4. Lawlessness - Matthew 24:13 tells us that lawlessness will increase in the last days. We are witnessing that now. The UK is gone friends. I cannot believe that the UK removed itself from the European Union 10 years ago! How can that be?!! And now, will they be dragged back in? Possibly. The UK is now pushing policy to get rid of trial by jury. This is lawlessness and lawlessness spreads like a cancer.
5. Pope Leo - When Pope Francis was in office, I often thought there would be no way that another pope could be that liberal, and now, here we are with one who is already breaking that record! Here's what Pope Leo has revealed to us in his short time in the papacy: 1) he doesn't know or understand holy Scripture; 2) he doesn't like Israel; 3) he doesn't like Jews; and 4) he is more than willing to go head-to-head with President Trump. None of those are complimentary to him. After Leo's continuing rant on "warmongers" and his lack of mentioning any of the atrocities that are going on with Christians across the world who are being persecuted and slaughtered, both Vice President Vance and Speaker Johnson have strongly suggested that the pope stay out of U.S. politics. And did you know that the Vatican now has a Muslim prayer room?!!! One of the things that we have studied about regarding the religious system of the last days is that it will encompass a lot of belief systems under one umbrella. We may very well be seeing the scene set for that right now.
I don't know about you, but I will not be taking any virtue or morality lessons from a man who condemns walls, immigration, and war all the while he is touting the virtues of Islam. Mr. Pope, read the Bible!!!
6. Parliament of World Religions - Please look up this organization. It is the largest interfaith group whose goal is to seek human rights, climate justice (whatever that is), social justice, and equal rights for women and indigenous people. They are headquartered in Chicago. In Rom. 1:25, the Apostle Paul gives us an indication of what will be one of the prominent signs of the end times, "For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever, Amen."
Now ponder a statement on the face page of this group, "Earth cannot be changed for the better unless the consciousness of individuals is changed." If you can change the way a person thinks, then you can change the way a person behaves. This is psychology 101 and this is a play directly from Satan's playbook to use the brain mechanics of human beings against themselves and to benefit his evil schemes. This group is gaining influence across the world.
By the way, it doesn't matter what religion you are, you will be accepted into this organization. They accept paganism, wiccan, and even satanism. You name it, they take it! We are headed in that direction and the Catholic pope seems to be leading the way. In the first plenary address of this organization in 1993, a man named Robert Muller, a leading New Age political figure was the keynote speaker. Here's what he said, "There is one sign after the other, wherever you look, that we are on the eve of a New Age which will be a spiritual age.
There is no doubt about it. There is now a convergence of religion and science." He then pointed out that scientists are now studying consciousness, meditation, prayer, and religious faith and he made mention that the World Health Organization now recommends spiritual healing and spiritual practices. What we are seeing is a blending together of the religious/spiritual with the physical and of course, this all bleeds over into the political arena. This is straight from the Bible and defines the religion of the last-days.
7. Alexander Dugin - Who is this guy anyway? He is a Russian who claims to be an Orthodox Christian, but he is a satanist and a misinformation specialist. He is pushing for a holy war against the West. He is a student of Aleister Crowley who was a famous occultist. Dugin is best buds with Vladimir Putin. He sees Russia's foreign policy as a spiritual battle. He is dangerous and now, it appears that he is influencing American influencers like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Megan Kelly, Nick Fuentes, Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, and Jack Posobiec. If you are sensing a shift in the right, this is one reason why and it is frightening.
8. War - Will there be peace? Will there even be a ceasefire? There's supposed to be one right now, but I'm not holding out hope that it will remain in place. The country of Lebanon and its leaders have never wanted war with Israel. It is Hezbollah within the boundaries of Lebanon who has caused this country to be torn apart by war. And, as you know, Iran has been footing the bill to support Hezbollah. President Trump has invited the Israeli Prime Minister and the Lebanese President to the White House for a joint meeting for the first time since 1983. Btw, Hezbollah has already violated the ceasefire. No shock there.
9. Justice - Where does justice come from? To say that something is just means that it is the way it is supposed to be. Justice is an attribute of God that is derived from His holiness. When we understand that our sin (regardless of how little or how big) is a capital punishment against a holy God, then we can begin to see the big picture of how God orders society. There is supposed to be a system of justice on the earth if we are being true to our biblical mandate.
We just finished up our study of Revelation, and we learned about God's justice in how He will deal out His wrath during the tribulation. I'm so grateful that we are under grace. All governments will be held accountable for how they delivered justice and righteousness. God ordained government to restrain evil and maintain order.
In Rom. 13:4, the Apostle Paul lays out the role of governing authorities as "God's servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer." When the Church is raptured, that system will be gone. It is so important that we use the discernment that God has placed within us to bring order to our homes and to our government.
10. Disappearance of scientists - There are 11 scientists who are missing or dead who have some kind of tie to classified nuclear and space information. Why? We don't really have an answer to this...yet. Coincidence? I think not! One or two might be a coincidence, but 11?
One of the scientists was an Air Force Maj. General. Most of these scientists have some kind of connection to advanced aerospace or UFO-related projects. Without a doubt, something nefarious is going on. But who is behind it? Is it our own government? Is it a shadow government? Is it a foreign government? Or is it a spiritual force in heavenly places as Eph. 6 explains? I have my own ideas and mine would be on the last option here. Satan knows that he has but a short while before his world comes crashing down and he also knows that there will be some kind of explanation for the disappearance of so many people after the rapture of the Church. Perhaps these people knew too much.
Our biggest challenge as believers is to not be deceived. So many verses warn us of this: Matt. 24:4, Eph. 5:6, James 1:16, 1 Cor. 6:9-10, and so many others. The deception of these last days will be so great that the elect could fall prey if the days were not cut short. Pray for discernment. Pray for our President to be surrounded by godly men and women and I'm telling you, Paula White (Senior Advisor to the White House Faith Office) is not one of those persons. I'd like to pray her out of this position because her counsel is neither godly nor is it wise.
Friends, there is a great cosmic battle being fought right now in the heavenlies. It is a battle that we can sense, but we cannot see. When Scripture tells us that our battle is not against human beings (flesh and blood) but against powers and principalities in heavenly places, we need to take that seriously.
Look at the picture below. We are playing a completely different game than the game Iran is playing. Our leaders need our prayers so that they can not only recognize the game the enemy is playing, but so that they can win the game. Please continue to pray for our dear friends, Deborah N Noam Cohen. The area of Israel where they live continues to be under a lot of hostility from the enemy. I want them to sleep through the night and to sleep well, in perfect peace.
