Geopolitical Update Sept 29, 2025
There’s a lot going on domestically and internationally that concerns last day’s events. And, as you know, last day’s events always involve Israel. After we get through Rev. 3 in our study, there is a strong focus on the nation of Israel throughout the rest of the book.
Recently, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyhu revealed that Iran still has 400 kilograms of enriched uranium they are hiding. If this is true, then we did not destroy all of Iran’s nuclear facilities and they are continuing to move forward with their nuclear program. Their targets are the U.S. and Israel. So now, the U.S. must again decide whether or not we’re going to get involved with possible strikes against Iran. The Russian foreign minister has warned the world (especially the U.S.) not to get involved. Russia is investing billions of $$$ in the building of Iran’s nuclear facilities and Russia has been consistently sending Iran military weapons. And now, to make this situation even more complicated, China has become involved, further escalating the alarm.
2. On Monday, today (Sept. 29) President Trump will be meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Trump has previously said that the annexation of Judea and Samaria is a no-go. However, I am reading that sources inside the White House are indicating that this may change. NOT GOOD!
3.On Tuesday of this week, President Trump will meet with his War Secretary and the top military generals to discuss the uranium issue and how the U.S. might become involved. Will we strike Iran’s nuclear facilities again? What will we do about Russia? What will we do about China? The world is a powder-keg!
4.Africa is on the brink of famine. There are reports that by 2030, (which is not too far away) 512 million people will be going hungry and 60% of those people will be in Africa. The hardest hit area in Africa right now is South Sudan. More than 2 million children are facing malnutrition. There are constant regional conflicts that not only threaten the safety of the people who live there, but these conflicts threaten the farming situation and the safe water situation there. In Rev. 5, we will discover that famine follows war.
5.Will the Gaza war ever end? This seems to be a perpetual war. Prime Minister Netanyahu gave an incredible speech at the U.N. last week, but the conference hall was nearly empty because most of the nations of the world have already turned their backs on Israel and the representatives for those nations got up and walked out. Before the end of time, the Bible says that all nations will turn their backs on Israel. This includes the U.S. The Times of Israel released news of a 21-point plan that the U.S. has cooked up with other Muslim countries regarding Gaza and Israel. This plan includes a clause for a Palestinian state and this also represents a strong departure from the previous plan of relocating the people in Gaza and refusing the possibility of a Palestinian state. The U.S. is on dangerous territory with the God of Israel if this is true.
6.In his speech last week to the U.N. General Assembly, Netanyahu said, “Giving the Palestinians a state 1 mile from Jerusalem after Oct. 7 is like giving Al-Qaeda a state 1 mile from New York City after Sept. 11. It’s insane and we will not do it….Israel will not allow you to shove a terror state down our throats.” He is exactly right in this assertion.
7.What about Judea and Samaria? President Trump has declared recently that he will not allow the annexation of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) for the present time being. This land belongs to Israel. God gave it to them.
8.Turkey has now weighed in on all that is going on in Israel. President Trump met with President Erdogan of Turkey last week. Erdogan demanded that Hamas be able to stay in Gaza. I find myself asking the question again, “Why is Turkey even part of NATO?”. For that reason, why is the U.S. even part of NATO?
The most dangerous place in the world for a Christian today is Nigeria according to the UCDP (Uppsala Conflict Data Program). Tens of thousands of Christians have been killed by Muslim extremists in the last 8-10 years. For those who were farmers, their farms have been destroyed. Christians in this part of Africa have been displaced from their homes. Hundreds of Christian churches have been destroyed. And if the world (especially the U.S.) does not get a handle on the Muslim situation, this too could be coming to a town near you. There are people groups from all over the world who come to America and assimilate into our culture and way of doing things. Muslims have never and will never assimilate.
So, how can we pray about these situations?
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you.” We want to be prosperous in our country.
Pray that our President and his administration will receive godly counsel and wisdom regarding the division of Israel. Pray that there will be no division of the land of Israel. Joel 3:2 “They shall not divide the land.”
Pray that all of those who provide ungodly counsel will be cast to the side. Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.” Special Envoy, Steve Witcoff appears to be the common denominator in all of these negotiations and I’m not convinced that he provides good and godly counsel.
Pray for cooler heads to prevail in regards to China, Russia, Turkey, and Iran. This is the coalition of nations who will one day come against Israel (perhaps with the exception of China). Never in history have these nations aligned themselves together. Ezekiel 38:2-6 states that Rosh (Russia), Meshech and Tubal (ancient peoples in Russia and parts of Turkey), Persia (Iran), and Gomer and Beth Togamah (Turkey) will one day lay out a war plan against Israel in the last days.
Pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted in Africa and around the world. Satan knows his time is limited and we are inching closer to the rapture of the Church. Eph. 6:18 urges us to “be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Pray for Christians in the U.S. to stand strong against the evil of our day and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ regardless of the cost. Deut.31:6 “Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or terrified, for Yahweh your God will go with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
