Daniel - Lesson 2
Excerpt
Last week, we learned a little about the young man named Daniel and where he came from and where he ended up. We learned that because of Daniel’s social status and his physical appearance, he was chosen to serve in the king’s service. We learned in Dan. 1:8 that the king had certain things in mind for these young men and one of those things was to eat a certain diet so that they could be strong. Daniel did not want to defile himself with the diet of the Babylonians and he made this known to the chief of the eunuchs. This is where we begin today’s lesson. Go ahead and read Dan. 1:9-21. Why do you think the Babylonian food was offensive to Daniel and his friends? Does this mean that Daniel and his friends were vegetarian?
