Habakkuk - Lesson 3

Excerpt

It is entirely God’s decision as to whom He chooses to show mercy. There may be some that we do not feel deserve mercy and yet, God shows them mercy. There may be others that we believe should be shown mercy and God chooses not to show them mercy. When I begin to wonder about such things, I ask God to give me faith and trust that He knows the end from the beginning and that He knows exactly what He’s doing whether I agree or not. The beautiful thing we get to witness through this little book is how one man learns to trust God even when his human understanding of a situation clashes with God’s. Who do you trust? Do you trust yourself or do you trust the Word of God? That is what this whole book boils down to. Habakkuk continues questioning God about what God is about to do to the nation of Judah in Hab. 1:14-17. What do you think he is really saying here?
