Genesis - Lesson 14

We are on a journey of faith, just like Abraham. And just like Abraham, we are going to make some mistakes along the way. Sometimes, I know I am more teachable and coachable than at other times. Those other times are generally when pride steps in the way and knocks me off the path. Abraham is getting ready to make the same mistake twice! I know that none of us have ever done that! Yeah, right! If I’d been Sarah, I believe I would have knocked him in the head with a frying pan! Read Gen. 20.

They are traveling again. Where had he been and where was he going? (Gen. 18:1 and Gen. 20:1)

Abraham and his gang (minus Lot and his gang of 2 daughters and 2 grandsons) were traveling from  where the Oaks of Mamre were in Hebron which is on the west bank of Jerusalem down to the Negev.  Hum, seems like they’ve been there before. If you were to travel that road now, it would take you just  under 3 hours to get from one place to the other. I actually googled the fastest route from Hebron to  Negev! There were no roads back then, only a route. It would have taken much longer to get there and  with all the livestock and people that traveled with...
