Unfinished Business

What happens when there is unfinished business? Well, lots of things can happen. I'll give you an example.
In April 2011, my son, Gabriel was discovered to have a brain tumor that was 3 1/2 centimeters large. It was an immediate danger as the neurosurgeon told us that the tumor was about to herniate and if it did, it would be immediate death. The surgery was long, and the waiting was stressful, but the tumor was removed…the entire tumor was removed! Thank God for that! When Gabe and I got to St. Jude for his cancer treatment, we met many children whose tumors could not be completely removed.
What can happen when a tumor is not completely removed? Cancer cells can continue to multiply and can even create a new tumor. Cancer cells can travel to other parts of the body and metastasize forming new tumors.
Why am I even telling you this? I'm telling you this because Israel has a cancerous tumor. That tumor is called Iran and its nuclear program. That tumor has spread to other parts of the Middle East with Iran's proxies and has caused significant harm to Israel from other directions.
This recent 12-day war was historic and, in many ways, supernatural. We haven't seen anything like it since 1948 and 1967. There is no doubt that God showed up. I am so proud of our President for offering Israel help by way of sending our B2 bombers to destroy some of those cancerous cells in 3 nuclear sites.
However, the tumor was not completely removed. Why is it that just when Israel is about to remove the tumor that either the U.S. or the U.N. steps in and demands a ceasefire. Historically, a ceasefire with Israel's enemies rarely works. I can only think of 2 instances where it did, with Egypt and with Jordan.
Israel was reportedly only a week or two from removing the cancerous tumor and we (the U.S.) stepped in and demanded a ceasefire. Friends, this war is not over, not by a long-shot! Iran's ability to fund their operatives in Iraq, Yemen, Gaza, and Lebanon was almost completely disabled. And now, the cancer will spread.
What does Iran do when there is a temporary ceasefire? They regroup and rebuild and rearm. This is the reality of the situation. Their friends in low places, namely Russia, Turkey, and China are feeding this cancerous tumor.
When cancerous tumors are not completely removed, they spread, and the result can be far worse than the initial cancerous tumor.
Israel was prevented from removing the tumor and now they and the rest of the world will have to deal with all the cancer cells that will spread across the world.
They have unfinished business, and it was us (the U.S.) who caused them to not be able to finish the job. I think our President was under tremendous pressure to demand this ceasefire.
As concerning as all of this is, I know that God is in control of every single thing that happens and is allowed to happen regarding the nation of Israel. "He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps."
Just something to think about and pray about.
