Last Night's Strikes On Iran
I hope you all watched President Trump's short address to the nation last night. It was precise. It was unapologetic. The president stated that the targets were eliminated and that peace looms in the Middle East. He praised the might of the U.S. military.
But, the most amazing part of this address was, "I just want to thank everybody, and in particular, God. I want to say, we love you, God." I cried when he said it!
Instead of shaming our country (like Obama did) and shying away from decisive action (like Obama and Biden did), President Trump was confident, yet humble, and he was clear on his intention to protect American interests and people both here and overseas. He reiterated that a nuclear-armed Iran is a threat to every country in the world.
"I sought for a man among them to stand in the gap..." (Ezekiel 22:30) What ambassador Mike Huckabee said to President Trump is playing out in real time, "You did not seek this moment. This moment sought YOU!" Indeed, our president is standing in the gap for Israel.
Since 1979 when the Shah of Iran was exiled and the Islamic Republic took over Iran, there has been a reign of terror in the Middle East. They have used their proxies (Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis) to do their dirty work in the name of Allah and with the word of the Ayatollah.
What possible negative responses come in the aftermath?:
Complaints that President Trump has dragged us into a foreign war.
Assertions that some in Congress will put forth articles of impeachment.
Possible escalation of terror as a result of this strike.
U.N. criticisms (already happened).
What possible positive responses come in the aftermath?
Praise and gratitude from our people and the peoples of the world
Celebration and hope in the Middle East.
Stabilization of world economic markets.
The Church will rise up and be the Church and proclaim the name of the Lord and pray with renewed fervor for our president, our nation, and Israel.
What do we need to do?:
Pray for God's protection of our President and our country and that no weapon formed against him and us will prosper.
Pray for God's protection of Israel and PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
Pray that President Trump will be surrounded by loyal and wise advisors and that those who have sought the Lord will find favor with him.
Pray for the protection of our service members.
Pray that the Lord will restrain all evil in our country and in the Middle East.
Pray that all nuclear devices be eliminated and that divine intervention will prevail.
What does this do to the prophetic timeline?
We are 1 step closer to peace in the Middle East. For those last days to play out, there must be peace, and Israel must be living in security.
"Wars and rumors of wars" (Matt. 24) has been the mantra of the world for several years now. But a temporary peace is going to happen at some point. Will this strike last night be the beginning of that peace? Perhaps.
In any event, we are one step closer to hearing that trumpet sound and joining the Lord in the air. In 1947, there was something created called The Doomsday Clock which predicts how close we are to the total destruction of the world. It is a metaphor to remind humanity that there are dangerous technologies and people who could cause the planet to be in danger of annihilation. Today, that symbolic clock says that we are 89 seconds to midnight. We are inching ever so close to the end.
We must not be complacent, but we must also not be afraid because God is sovereign, and His timetable is always right on time!
Proclaim the name of the Lord while there is still time to do so! Be bold and sure in your sharing of the gospel news of Jesus Christ.
Last night was a turning point in the history of the world!
