Aliens, UFOs, UAPs, What’s the Christian to Think?

As if the world wasn’t already crazy enough, we’ve had an explosion of talk (and evidence) produced about extraterrestrial beings in recent years and days. I’ve been on the cusp of writing about this for a good while now and have postponed it due to just not feeling like I have enough of a handle on it to even speak intelligently to it. I’m not sure that even now I can speak intelligently to it, but I’ll do the best I can with my very limited brain resources.

On Tuesday of last week, Gabe and I went to see the movie Disclosure Day. If you want to go see it, you might want to stop reading now because there will be some spoilers. The movie was unsettling to say the least. It was hyped up to be another epic Spielberg movie like Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, or Jaws. Believe me, it was nothing even close to the spectacular cinematic experience of those movies. I’m not advocating for seeing or not seeing the movie. It will be coming out soon so that you can stream it for much less than going to the theatre. For my admission and Gabe’s and 1 small drink and a small popcorn, it was $48 which I think is ridiculous! (I had to sneak in candy and a bottled water for Gabe in my purse.:)) Emily Blunt who plays Margaret Fairchild (a Kansas City meteorologist) gave an incredible performance, but much of the movie was just cheesy in my opinion. It wasn’t a bad movie, but I wouldn’t classify it as good either. The statement that I’ve heard many people make, including Spielberg himself, is that this movie could cause a person to question his or her faith in God. Well, if this movie causes you to do this, then I would question your faith in God to begin with. It is certainly not convincing in any way to cause a true believer to doubt. I do think that part of the goal in making the movie was indeed to cause people to doubt God.

The movie is about the government’s attempt to keep alien existence from the knowledge of the citizens. First and foremost, you need to know that this movie tries hard to elicit sympathy for the aliens in the movie and to desensitize the viewer to any adverse thoughts regarding these entities. In other words, this movie seeks to normalize the fact that aliens are amongst us and that we should accept them as benevolent beings. This alone should make the antenna of the believer go up. This movie is ungodly from start to finish.

The premise of the movie is that the government has been hiding information (which they absolutely have been) about alien lifeforms and aircraft from the public. Ever heard of the Roswell incident or Area 51? On July 8, 1947, in Roswell, NM, an alien aircraft in the shape of a disc was reported to be found. The Army later reported that it was a weather balloon, but there were many who disputed that report in favor of the alien aircraft report. Area 51 located in southern Nevada is a U.S. Airforce facility where highly classified aircraft and weapons systems have been developed. Many believe this facility houses and does research on recovered alien aircrafts as well as recovered alien bodies.

In June 2023, a decorated intelligence official with the U.S. Airforce named David Grusch became a public whistleblower in a now famous expository regarding the government’s cover-up of alien aircraft and non-biologics (non-humans), and he claimed that our government had been aware of these since at least the 1930s. He had previously filed a complaint with the U.S. Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General and informed them in 2022 that he planned to share this classified information with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Disclosure Day is based loosely on Mr. Grusch and his testimony. He had interviewed over 40 witnesses to UFO/UAP phenomena who had first-hand knowledge. In his later testimony to Congress, Mr. Grusch claims that the government is in possession of dead non-biologic entities who manned the aircrafts. He claims that the government runs a secret program called the Legacy Program where the U.S. government has been operating a crash-retrieval and reverse-engineering program. He claims that the program is secret even to top U.S. officials including the President of the United States. He said that people had been threatened and possibly even killed to cover up this information.

This is the premise from which the movie works.

In this article, I want to talk about what I personally believe is going on out there beyond the veil of our eyes and how all of this connects back to Scripture. Let’s first define a few terms:

UAP - Unidentified Aerial Phenomena
UFO - Unidentified Flying Object
Terrestrial - belonging to and living on the Earth
Extraterrestrial - anything that originates or exists outside of the Earth or its atmosphere Interdimensional - refers to different spatial or temporal dimensions

When we read about the Tower of Babel in Gen. 11, are we to believe that these people actually thought they could build a structure that could physically extend to the 3rd heaven or are they building a structure with fallen-angel technology that would get them to another dimension that we refer to as heaven? We can’t know for sure, but the fact that they could have and likely did have the assistance of fallen angels would lead us to believe that they indeed had some kind of higher intelligence and knowledge about how to reach the place where God resides and I believe that would be in another dimension. Is heaven a place? Yes it is a physical place. Can we get there if we just keep going up, up, up outside of our atmosphere and even outside of our universe? I don’t think so. I know this is complicated and I don’t understand it all myself, but I do believe that the leaders involved with building that tower in Gen. 11 did so under the leadership of beings who knew exactly how to get to the dimension of heaven.

I’m going to be posing several questions throughout this article and do my best to answer them with the limited information I have and the limited brain I possess. The first question is this, “Are there extraterrestrials out there?”

Answer, YES! We are terristrials. We live on planet Earth.

Scripture speaks of lots of beings either outside of Earth’s atmosphere or in a different dimension altogether:

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit - Supreme and eternally existent. All other beings are created by God.
Angels (Malakim) - Good and Fallen - Served as messengers of God until 1⁄3 of them fell Cherubim - Winged guardians of sacred spaces (Gen. 3:24) It was 2 carved cherubim who covered the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies where the presence of God resided and this was a pattern of things in heaven. (Heb. 8:5)

Seraphim - 6–winged beings who surround God’s throne, and shout praises to God continually. (Isaiah 6:2)
Living Creatures (Chayyoth) - 4 multi-faced, winged beings surrounding God’s throne as seen in Ezekiel 1:5-14 and Rev. 4:6.

Sons of God - (Bene ha-elohim) Often refers to a heavenly council of divine beings. (Job 1:6, Psalm 82:1)
Satan - Was originally named Lucifer (a beautiful and high-ranking angel, “a shining one, son of the morning”), a created being whose pride led to a heavenly rebellion in which 1⁄3 of the heavenly angels defected. (Isaiah 14, Luke 10:18, 2 Cor. 11:14, Rev. 12:3-4) Demons/Unclean Spirits - Rebellious fallen entities referenced frequently in the New Testament. Many believe these are the spirits of dead Nephilim. I believe this. These entities are disembodied spirits. Angels do not appear in Scripture as disembodied spirits. In fact, we are told that sometimes we entertain angels and we don’t even realize it. (Heb. 13:2) Also, if fallen angels mated with human women in Gen. 6, then they must look like us. The angels who came to lead Lot and his family out of Sodom and apparently looked like human men because homosexual men wanted to have sex with them. (Gen. 19)

Nephilim - The offspring of human women and fallen angels often referred to as giants. (Gen. 6:1-4)
Principalities (Arche) Eph. 6:12
Authorities (Exousia) Eph. 6:12

Powers (Dunameis) Eph. 6:12
Thrones and Dominions (Thronoi/Kyriotes) Eph. 6:12
Spirits/Ghosts - Disembodied spirits such as the spirit of the prophet Samuel in 1 Sam. 28:13-14.
Symbolic Creatures from the books of Daniel and Revelation (Remember the locust army that emerged from the pit of hell in Rev. 9 that resembled horses with the faces of men? Freaky to say the least!)

In the vernacular of those who study what we might simply refer to as aliens, other terms are sometimes used:

Greys - large, dark, creepy-looking beings with big heads and tear-shaped eyes Insectoids/Mantids - looks like giant insects or praying mantises
Reptilians - shape-shifting reptilian beings

Whole books are written about this stuff. It is far beyond my understanding. We tend to relegate anything we don’t understand as being of this world to being demonic and for sure, much of it likely is, but it is not quite as simple as this. It’s a good thing that we can’t always see what is out there beyond the spiritual veil, because if we could, it would scare the begeebees out of us!

In the movie, Disclosure Day, the aliens are portrayed in a benevolent role as the good guys who come in peace to help us and not to hurt us. This is the first fallacy of the movie. As believers,

we know that there are forces of evil out there that mean us harm. We see this played out repeatedly throughout Scripture.

There is another concept played out in this movie called astro technology. Astro projecting is where you can get your spirit to project somewhere else. The Colin Firth character named Noah (head of a secret organization named WARDEX who is in charge of keeping the truth about non-human entities from public knowledge) in the movie did this very thing. His character would project his presence in another place and he could thus see what was going on in places where he was not physically present. This is kinda, sorta, loosely what the blockbuster movie Avatar was based on.

In an early scene in the movie, Jane, a former nun, and the girlfriend of Dr. Daniel Kellner (a cyber-security expert turned whistleblower) held a cross in her hand while Noah had astro-projected himself in her presence and was trying to get her to rat out her boyfriend. She holds onto the cross so tightly that it cuts into her hand and blood starts dripping off her hand and Noah quotes “Thy will be done”. This scene is incredibly sacreligious.

Spielberg is reported to have access to alien implants and other artifacts related to alien abduction. Does he also have access to secret government classified files about alien abductions? This movie would lead us to believe that he does. Spielberg also made a series called Taken which came out in 2002 and is a 10-part tv series about the birth of a hybrid child (1⁄2 alien, 1⁄2 human). The Nephilim, we are told in Gen. 6, were on the Earth in the days of Noah, “and also afterwards”. Are fallen angels still experimenting with human beings? Possibly. Probably. Hollywood is often ahead of the curve when it comes to Satan’s schemes. I firmly believe that Hollywood as a whole is guided by demonic influence and that they want to condition us with a certain message to normalize this alien stuff.

So the question is why would Hollywood want us to accept aliens as good? What is there to gain for the kingdom of darkness if we accept these “aliens” as good and as part of us? Jesus told His disciples repeatedly in Matthew 24, to “be not deceived” in regards to the last days. Satan is a master of deception and the father of lies.

Are we the only ones in the universe and outside the universe who God created? Well, obviously, if you look at the list of created beings listed above, we are not the only “ones” out there. But are we the only humans out there? Scripture does not say that there are other humans on other planets, so I have to assume that there are not. But hear me when I say this, we are not the center of the universe. Christ is the center of the universe and everything revolves around Him and not the other way around. Christ came to the Earth in human form and died a grueling death for the salvation of human beings and not for these other beings.(1 Pet. 1:12) Fallen angels are not eligible for salvation, only mankind can be the recipients of that grace. Matthew 24:41 tells us what awaits for those fallen angelic beings, “everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels”. This means that those angels who fell will have no possibility of redemption.

When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him in John 1:29, he said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”. The word here used for world is kosmos and it refers to all human beings of all time. It does not refer to fallen angels. Therefore, Christ did not die for angels. He died for us. Why is it then that the fallen angels have no opportunity for salvation, but human beings do? My guess is that because angels have such an exalted position and have been in the physical presence of God and because they are more intelligent than man, their sin is unredeemable. Scripture tells us in Psalm 8:5 that we are created a little

“lower” than the angels. We are the image bearers of God on Earth. We are special to Him and loved by Him because He chose to send His only Son to die for our redemption.

The last scene of the movie shows a ton of “clips” of what Spielberg might have imagined the actual footage from Roswell and other incidents might have been like. This part was actually the most interesting part of the movie to me, but it scrolled by too fast to really focus on any one scene. Then there was a geriatric alien who was rolled into the news studio for the whole world to witness. That part was just silly and made the whole movie seem even cheesier than it already was.

All of the AI technology that is here and on the horizon is as my friend Drew Martin says have “poked through a veil”. I believe that and although so much of this technology is useful, much more of it is scary and uncontrollable. I think that is Elon Musk’s fear. He has alluded to the fact that at some point (and perhaps we are already there) we will no longer be in control of what AI can and will do.

The Tower of Babel was constructed in order to get to heaven and what God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit did was to come down and confuse the language of the people and divide them into 70 different people groups and send them out in all directions. When that tower was being constructed, everyone understood one another. Before it could be completed, the language issue constricted communication to only those within a certain language group. Pentecost was, in essence, a reversal of Babel. At Pentecost, everyone there heard the gospel message in his/her own language.

Are the entities of darkness in high places trying again to erect a modern-day Tower of Babel with this AI technology that has been guided by fallen angels? I believe they are. But God did not allow it to get beyond a certain point 4000 years ago and I don’t believe He will allow it to pass a certain point now.

There is much out there beyond the veil that we can neither see nor can we understand. Hollywood is trying its best to “dumb it down” for us so that we can swallow the deception and accept it as part of our existence without pushing it away. The easiest way for them to do that is to simply say that we are inhabited by aliens from other planets who mean us no harm and that they can peacefully live here with us.

Friends, there is coming a day when the Church (all believers) will be taken out of here to be forever with the Lord. How will the world and the coming Antichrist be able to answer the question as to why so many people have disappeared? The stage is being set right now with the disclosure of all of this “alien” stuff. The forces of evil already have an answer awaiting the world when this happens.

This is such an interesting topic that I will likely do a couple of follow-up articles. Look up, our redemption draws nigh!
