Hot Topic! Tucker Carlson
I have resisted commenting on Tucker Carlson's speech at Charlie Kirk's Turning Point conference, well, because quite frankly, I've been in shock that Charlie would even invite such an antisemitic individual as Tucker Carlson to his event. And yet, he did!
I first of all want to say that Tucker Carlson has a very low degree of understanding of Scripture. Perhaps he wants to learn. I hope he wants to learn. But if he does, he cannot get his theology and doctrine from country music star, John Rich, who he has on his show regularly to talk about "biblical" issues.
At the Turning Point event, Tucker went on a rant against Israel and claimed that Jeffrey Epstein was a Mossad agent and that was why the "Epstein Files" have not been released. Of course, he had no proof to make that very dangerous political comment.
And let's just pretend that it's true….who cares! If it is true and Israel has behaved badly, then God will take care of that. Israel is a nation like no other on this earth. Look around the world. Who founded every nation? Every single nation but 1 has been established by man. Only 1 nation was established by God and that is the nation of Israel. That is why Israel is special and different.
Israel was chosen by God to spread His blessings across the world and to make His name known to the world. So, even if what Tucker says is true, that does not change the fact that Israel is in a unique relationship with God.
The great problem with so many (evangelicals included) is that they confuse the Abrahamic covenant and the Mosaic covenant. The Abrahamic covenant was written 600 years before the Mosaic covenant. God made/cut an unconditional covenant with Abraham that he would be the father of many nations and that all the nations of the world would be blessed through him. And in that covenant, God promised the land of Israel to the offspring of Abraham (the Jews).
The Mosaic covenant laid out the blessings and curses involved with following or not following the laws that God established. These 2 covenants are very different. One of them is irrevocable. The other is conditional upon compliance. How many of you have disciplined your child when they misbehave? If you haven't, you should have. The good things that I gave to my children were always conditional upon their compliance to my rules as a parent. But my love for them was always unconditional. God disciplines His own and He rewards His own. The discipline of God towards Israel has never and will never thwart His love for His people.
Is it a problem for you that God put the Jewish people back in their own land 2000 years after they were kicked out? It's not a problem for me because God promised He would do that, and He made good on that promise. But apparently, it is a huge problem for folks like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. Israel may exist in unbelief right now, but that will not always be the case. There will be a day when all Israel will be saved.
The whole world seems to be antisemitic. But God tells us that we (those who belong to Him) are in the world, but we are not to be of the world. I have no doubt that Israel has done bad things in the past and is doing some bad things currently. I know that the U.S. has done bad things in the past and is doing some bad things currently. Does that mean that I denounce my citizenship because I disagree with things going on in my government? No way! (By the way, I think that we are finally making right many of the wrongs in our government.)
We are not called to agree with everything Israel does. However, we are called to support their right to exist, and we are called to love them, and we are called to pray for them.
I love love love Charlie Kirk. But I am gravely disappointed in him for having Tucker Carlson speak at his event because he knows exactly how Tucker feels about Israel.
Friends, I make this post to say to you, do not allow something that a celebrity media personality has spoken so passionately about to skew what you know to be true about Israel. Israel will continue to be in a solemn binding agreement with Almighty God both now and throughout eternity!
