The Feast of Pentecost- Lesson 6
Excerpt
The Feast of Pentecost is known in Hebrew as Shavuot and is referred to as the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Ingathering. Let’s recap what we’ve learned so far. Jesus,
Died on the Feast of Passover….He is our Passover lamb.
Was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread…He is our Afikoman.
Arose on the Feast of First Fruits…..He is our first fruit from the dead.
It’s hard to miss the connection between Jesus and the feasts. And God, in His great creativity, painted out these feasts to give us a portrait of who Christ is and what His work is. Are the 7 feasts still important? You bet they are! Are they only important to the Jews? They are important to all of us, but especially to those who know the Lord. Most believers are completely clueless about the 7 feasts of the Lord. That is unfortunate. God refers to these feasts as His “appointed days”. The Hebrew word for appointed is yaad. Yaad means a destination. In other words, these feasts help us to arrive at a destination. That destination is Jesus Christ.
