How many times have we sung this song?! There are many more verses than just this one. There are also a lot of misconceptions about this story of the flood. Before we get into our questions, please read over Genesis 6-8.
When I became pregnant with my second son, Colton, I decided that I wanted to decorate his room in a Noah’s ark theme. Oh it was so cute and colorful with all the animals! When he was ready to get out of his baby bed, I had my dad cut out a Noah’s ark headboard that I painted for him to transition into another ark bed. Noah’s ark is a favorite theme of baby nurseries. But the story of Noah’s ark is anything but cute and sweet. It is the most cataclysmic, deadly slaughter on mankind and animals that has ever occurred since the earth was created.
Out of the entire world, we have this one guy who really gets it. There is always a remnant. Even when all believers are removed from the earth by way of the rapture, I believe there will be those who immediately know what happened because they are left behind and they will cry out to God in that moment. We know that there will be a multitude of tribulation saints. Read Gen. 6:11-13. What reason did God give for destroying the earth?
